On behalf of the Journal of Food Nutrition & Health, as Editor-in-Chief, it is my distinct honour on behalf of our Journal and we are privileged to welcome Analytical Society to our journal. As Editor-In-Chief it is my great pleasure and honour to introduce you to the Journal of Food Nutrition & Health.
Nutrition is the science that elucidates the interactions of nutrients and other substances in food. It includes intake of food, considered in relation to the body’s dietary needs. Good nutrition is an adequate, healthy balanced diet combined with regular physical activity , it is a basis for good health.
Poor nutrition is insufficient, poorly balanced diet can lead to reduced immunity, causing deficiency diseases like anaemia cretinism, kwashiorkor in acute cases, and marasmus in chronic cases of malnutrition.
Food Nutrition & Health Research is the incorporation of basic sciences and engineering sciences to study and improve the physical, chemical and biochemical nature of foods and principles of food processing.
It deals with the development of new food products, design of process to produce foods, choice of packing materials, shelf life studies, and evaluation of food quality by microbial and chemical testing methods. Food science is an amalgamation of different disciplines; it absorbs concepts from microbiology, chemical engineering and biochemistry. Some of the sub disciplines of food science: Food chemistry, Food engineering, Food microbiology, Food packing, Food preservation etc.
